Photography by Danko Macsimovic

Aug 17, 2015

Danko is a 32 years young photographer from Belgrade, Serbia. His photography is highly inspired by cinema, specially by the French Nouvelle Vague cinema movement and the actresses in those films. “Also, I’m impressed with photography in films of Andrei Tarkovsky and with the work of cinematographer Sven Nykvist. [And] If I have to say who is my favorite photographer, I’ll choose Mariam Sitchinava.”

Danko is into portraiture because he has interesting and beautiful female friends to work with, who always help him with new ideas. Danko likes to visualise and prepare his photos before taking them but spontaneity is also present in his work “sometimes we just go to some potentially interesting locations without ideas and photos are kind of spontaneous.”
