Snjezana is a young talented photographer from Zagreb, Croatia who in 2000 graduated from the School of Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb. Her experimental approach to photography makes her images unique and intriguing, building in this way a particular expectancy, which makes us crave for the next image that could reveal more details of the whole story. Following we want to present the short interview we had with Snjezana: am - First of all thank you for your contribution to our project. Can you please tell us where are you from and what do you do at the moment? SJ - Born and based in Zagreb, Croatia. At the moment I do some creative workshops for children. I’m also trying to dive into photography a little bit more, since I had a long break due to some personal reasons. am - What inspires your artistic work? SJ - My emotional response to the world (people, nature, light, dreams…) Simple stuff. How light falls into some objects and influences them. How emotions enter me and what they do to me, the way they change me and the way I perceive world. Also intimacy, touch. All my senses are all of the time in a quest for inspiration. Life. am - Who are your favourite photographers / artists? SJ - Favourite is a difficult word. It changes all of the time. And there are so many of them whose work I love. Anyway, first that came to my mind are Rinko Kawauchi, Wolfgang Tillmans, Daisuke Yokota… am - How do you describe your visual language? SJ - Me trying to understand myself. Never-ending story. Confusingly beautiful experience. am - How would you describe your photographs in 3 words? SJ - As my answer above, a visual diary with all its shades of intimacy. am- What are 5 things your could absolutely not live without? SJ - When I close my eyes and try to imagine some, only my kid comes to my mind. am - If you could travel and stay in a place for one year, where would you choose to go? SJ - Somewhere near the sea, near the woods. Warm. Maybe some Mediterranean village on a small island. am - What’s your favourite movie? SJ - I don’t really have one. am - Thank you very much for your time and for your contribution to analog magazine.
